Tennis star Rafael Nadal: ‘I’m still having pain a lot of days’

World No. 1 Rafael Nadal enters Sunday’s French Open as the favorite but not as the dominant player he has been in previous years.
In an interview with Time magazine, the world No. 1 says that he is “still having pain a lot of days” when asked about the state of his troublesome knee.
The 27-year-old Spaniard, winner of eight of the last nine titles at Roland Garros, has lost three clay-court tuneup tournaments, with his only European clay-court title coming in Madrid last month. He reached the finals at the Italian Open in early May, but lost to world No. 2 Novak Djokovic after winning the first set.
“I doubt about myself,” Nadal told Time. “I think the doubts are good in life. The people who don’t have doubts I think only two things: arrogance or not intelligence.”
The full article appears in the June 2 issue of Time.
