RAFA BEGINS PRE-SEASON TRAINING

Madrid, December 10, 2009

Rafa Nadal has no plans to rest. The champ is back home in Mallorca after a very long week full of commitments, and thousands of interviews that are part of the protocol that comes with winning a very deserved Davis Cup title.

The world No.2 and his team celebrated for hours before flying to Madrid on Monday for the official ceremony organized by the president of Spain, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero. On Tuesday, he flew back home, had a day’s rest and began his pre-season training.

At an interview on Sunday, Rafa explained that “there will be no days to celebrate” the holiday season and simply, his objective is to regain the rhythm and confidence that helped him take his game to the next level during the last two years.

He plans to work real hard and hopefully make up for the time lost during a pair of injury absences this past ATP season.

On December 29th, Rafa will begin his 2010 campaign at an Exhibition in Abu Dhabi, before playing in Doha, and the Australian Open.

Vamos Rafa!
