MADRID - The government of the Balearics has turned to Majorcan tennis star Rafael Nadal to relaunch Majorca's image following the recent ETA attacks and the crisis in the tourist industry. He is the star of a publicity campaign, announced the tourism council on the eve of the world number one's departure for the Montreal Master Series. In the commercial, Nadal skippers a sailing boat in Majorca's waters, from Sa Rapita, to Estrenc and Capo Salines, from Majorca to Cabrera. It also shows the many tourist activities on offer on the island, for nature-lovers, hikers and golfers. The Spanish player is the best-known Majorcan at a global level, and the publicity campaign, which will be shown on national TV in Spain's main tourist markets will help to promote the Balearics as a whole.
