With rain wreaking havoc on the U.S. Open’s Labor Day schedule, everyone
is pitching in to help. Roger Federer is playing a match on the smaller
Louis Armstrong Stadium for the first time in seven years, Victoria
Azarenka and Ana Ivanovic had their match bumped to Tuesday morning and
Rafael Nadal picked up a squeegee to dry off a practice court ahead of
his fourth-round match against Philipp Kohlschreiber.
Not pictured: How long it took the fastidious Nadal to arrange the
squeegee roller next to his water bottles, nor him receiving a time
violation from the head groundskeeper for waiting too long in between
rolls.
And while we love the squeegeeing Rafa, it’d be even better if he hopped on one of the Slambonis to dry the practice court.
